There is an interview at the end of the video discussing the origins of the piece.

Written and performed live by Thomas Flippin, Endless Loop Endless Days (2020) was written for Yale University's Postcards from Confinement project, where various artists were asked to make a musical reflection about Covid-19 lockdowns.

The piece uses an extremely uncommon pairing of the Theorbo —a giant 14 string baroque bass lute typically used in the music of 17th century composers like Robert de Visée— and a modern electronic loop pedal to create a quarantine lockdown one-man-band. The piece uses this 400 year old instrument in new and exciting ways by utilizing extended techniques, improvisation, contemporary harmony and composed sections.

Recorded live at Firehouse 12 in New Haven, Connecticut and engineered by Greg DiCrosta. This video was premiered by the New York City Classical Guitar Society in April 2021.
