Where did you get the values for the side legnth's of the reference triangle?

cos 150 degrees is in the second quadrant with a reference of 30 degrees, it is negative because when you go from right to left in the coordinate system, it is negative, the adjacent leg is negative the opposite positive and the hypotenuse always positive. cos 150 -root3 over 2. Hope that helps.

What if I need to find the exact value of cos 151? or sin of 316? What if the trig function does not have a reference angle of 30 or 45?
