Worried about recent events in Bangladesh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Friday that a new committee will be set up to keep an eye on the situation at the Indo-Bangladesh border.

"Due to issues in Bangladesh, the Modi government has set up a committee to oversee the Indo-Bangladesh border and ensure the safety of Indian nationals and minorities there. The committee will be led by the Additional Director General of the Border Security Force," Shah posted on X.

Bangladesh has seen deadly unrest recently, with over 500 people, including police, killed in anti-government protests that began with a student-led anti-reservation demonstration.
After Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled to India, attacks on Hindus and minorities were reported in Bangladesh and the creation of this committee shows India’s dedication to keeping the border secure and well-managed.
