In this edition of #ThePrintDebates, ThePrint’s Senior Consulting Editor Jyoti Malhotra spoke to India’s former deputy national security advisor and former high commissioner to Bangladesh Pankaj Saran and Bangladesh’s former foreign secretary and Bangabandhu Chair at Delhi University Shahidul Haque on the significance of the India-Bangladesh relationship, despite India’s inability to sign the Teesta water-sharing accords, illegal migration and the criss-cross of shared connections and linkages

The Print should be thanked for quality journalism.

Opening of borders for infrastructure development may help India to overcome problems faced due to chicken neck area. Laying of linear assets may become possible.

"Does not need to go into jihad *RIGHT NOW*" 31:25. It reminded me something.
Edit 21st sep- It's an open statement. So there's an option of jihad in the future.

Finally a journalistic post from Jyoti Malhotra, other than holding the light for pakistan. Please do such post for Srilanka and Nepal as well.

I dont understand this. With The Bangladeshi Diplomat being present why did you bring up the remark of Amit Shah ? Are you trying to insult him? What kind of journalism is this ?

Kudos to both Diplomats. Such positive interactions from both was just like watching good tennis match supporting each other.
If these things are continuously done, then prosperity of the whole region wl be a reality on ground. Thanks to both Diplomats once again.

Poor choice of words in questions ... For example, "Prime Minister Modi, fairly elected....". The Congress bias of the Journalist is evident!! I miss Shekhar Gupta's unbiased presentations.

The journalist really stands exposed in trying to hold the ‘congress’ placard by way of her questions, trying to put down her ‘own’ government . She tried her best to provoke the Bangladeshi diplomat by referring to the Amit Shah comment. Kudos to the diplomat who was able to deal with it nicely. It might have worked with a politician. 😀

Whenever the words "Radical Elements" comes on his mouth, there is a spooky smile. Worth Noting

As much as I disagree with most credit being given to Modi by Jyoti Ma'am despite the groundwork and framework being laid by the MMS government, it was refreshing to see two learned and experienced diplomats discussing in a very civilised manner. I hope the two nations ensure peace, stability and fraternity amongst its people for the betterment of the two countries.

I think it is very important for us to let all the Bangladeshis know, learn and understand, that they were all Hindus, before they were forced to accept Islam, a few centuries back. That will actually lead to a better people to people integration between India and Bangladesh, otherwise the integration limits only to the present day governments, which come and go from time to time.

Mind Begs the Question:
If a Region has Immigration Issue
Concentration Camps proposed solution
If a people vote in favour
Same as Nazis, No?

What Bangladesh is giving away to India is not by choice. Hasina is on Tiger's ride.
