YouTube ads will now play even when your video is paused

I really didn't mind the ads initially until YouTube became greedy and started injecting ads every time you watch a video.

YouTube ads are HORRIBLE. They are randomly placed and interrupt the flow of the videos. I ended up paying for premium. I just cannot STAND the ads-I HATE them so much I ended up having to pay up. What else can you do? YouTube has become a nightmare.

Another annoying thing is that at peak times YouTube is clearly overloaded because playing a video results in frequent spinning ‘loading’ wheel. But what I have noticed is why the bandwidth is limited (throttled) for the main videos but the adverts always play flawlessly. So clearly when they are overloaded they clearly prioritise the adverts whilst limiting the bandwidth available for the main video.

It seems to only show up when i'm in fullscreen, but watching in normal orientation seems to refuse showing up

Need to pause a video, but don't want an ad. Simply close the YouTube app and relaunch when resuming
