Something Actually NEW in RC!

As far as I know, this hasn't been done before. Not quite in this way, at any rate. Let me show you the Yikong 4106 Pro, which is a full-featured, 1/10 scale RC crawler with some clever new tech. I think you're gonna love it! (This isn't my usual review style. We're going to get the know the car with some exploration, before it hits the rocks.)

Let's drive!

Called "cutting" brakes...
Tractors use this idea
1:1 comp crawlers, too.

Not going to lie, a cutting brake is a pretty cool feature for a crawler. Much more viable a thing for a true rock crawler, but happy to see some innovation! Thanks for sharing.

This is pretty awesome!!! Love new ideas and having functions on my crawlers. Comp is fun but there is something about the scale side that brings pure happiness!🎉

Been a factory Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, pro bicycle mechanic for combined 45 years.
From the 70's on, I have lived to see technology advances across all these areas.
Now RC.
Some advances are good. Example: Shimano SIS. STI. Look pedals, to name a few.
Then suspension came. Then 8 speed, 9, 10, 11, 12 speed.
Mechanical disc, Hydraulic disc. Steel frames, aluminum, carbon glued, then full carbon frames.
If your a person not in the industry, of seeing first hand the pro's and cons of " new" technology, the consumer can easily get caught up in the " more is better" tidal wave.
I have seen much of this.
A lot of innovation is driven not so much as necessary, but by engineers and business to make profit. Some innovation is actually really good, and adds benefits.
Some is terrible and causes more problems than does good.
When carbon fiber bicycles came out, everyone is like "wow, cool". Ive worked on many a carbon frame an seen the cheap, engineering on these frames. And I mean the top brands. Some brands do it right. Some not.
Innovation can be good, or can be just more complicated and $$$ costly.

Those disc brakes are killer. Like dig without the dig! Great overview Craig!

Lets wait and see what Else is coming in the near Future!
Thanx once again for a very informal Video.
Love your vids (and your weather 😅)!!!

Very cool RC. For $405 Canadian, that's a whole lot of truck. I initially brushed Yikong aside as I thought they made clones or rebranded stuff but I'm glad to be wrong. It's got all the features of the big boys at a fraction of the cost and disc brakes!
I agree that the possibility of traction control for fast vehicles is exciting. Can you imagine doing a speed run with traction control? It would make a lousy driver like myself be able to get crazy speeds.
Thanks for introducing me to Yikong!
I hope your Pops? Is healing up nicely!
Take Care!

So glad I showed you this guy. It lives up to all I expected from it. What a great package!
Would the frosted windows by any chance be an interior sticker, or is it painted from the outside?
Great review, Craig. Thanks!! All the best for the pup!

Good to see suspension that actually moves realistically, the body roll makes it feel like it has weight

The frosted windows can be made clear if you varnish them. Just figure out which side has the frosting by scratching it with your nail. You may need to paint the details inside the cabin which is most likely the resason why they frosted the windows.

I own 2 Yikong/Absima RCs, their 1/10 Jeep which I've had for around 3 years, I've driven it often & hard & it's still about 90% original.
I also have their awesome 1/8 Bronco which I've owned for a year & is 99% original.!
They make some extremely good trail trucks.!
Great value, really durable, they perform brilliantly & look fantastic.!!
Parts availability is no problem either, in the UK at least.
I can't recommend Yikong highly enough..
I've got my eye on their 1/7 TB7 solid rear axle desert racer & their DF7 desert truck.!!
