Guy point for MSR Hubba Hubba NX tent load-tests to 73.8 lbs pulling weight.
At MSR, we not only build possible design solutions for our tents, we test them ourselves, both in our onsite design lab and in the field. During the process of designing our new MSR Hubba NX Series tents, we load-tested to failure tent parts such as guy points and our new adjustable stake-out loops to make sure they would stand up to heavy winds. Then, as always, we did field testing to validate our lab results. This video shows one machine we use to test materials to their absolute break point. Take a look to see how much pulling weight this guy point withstood.
