Overwintering jobs including strawberry runners, bulb planting and a greenhouse tidy

In this video I tidy the front garden by weeding and replanting the side beds and tree barrels. I take strawberry runners from my existing strawberry plants by potting them into a pot containing compost. I plant some tulip and daffodil bulbs in an attempt to get some spring colour from my garden and plants.

I pull out old weeds and plants that are no longer thriving and replace them with pansies. I then sort through my onions, removing the roots and dried shoots as well as clearing away some pepper plants. The autopot system I had used this summer needed cleaning and disassembling, which was done and now has been tidied away. This was a very pleasing day in the garden.

If you are interested in getting an autopot system the website is here:

😂 and left the door open so here they come 🐓🐓. Runners with runners 👍, I’ve tucked my strawberry 🍓 plants away for winter. Yes I have Montana 🍓🍓 too and they do well. I fell prey to bulb sales 😂 and put in more but it’s a hope for spring isn’t it. I pruned the bejesus out of my alyssum it was taking over. Definitely getting lots done Bethan 💪, have a wonderful week stay warm, Ali 🥶🥶🇨🇦

Wowsers! You were so busy in this video. Strawberries, bulbs, pansies, cleaning the greenhouse, parsnip harvest and the broccoli.

Amazing. The weather looked great during this week too. What do you do with your celeriac? That swede was huge too!

Lovely job! 👍🏼

I've been over the allotment this afternoon. Enjoying the mild weather. I moved soe scabious and hollyhocks to my newly acquired 2nd plot. I sp=owed the spring 24 but they are still alive and looking good so thought I would try and keep them. I no hve a bed already and prepped for my onions. Have been wanting to get them out for ages. So excited to get them in. The next thing is to move my Sweet Williams over the new plot and than i can get my broad beans planted. It will be such a relief- have been stressing over getting them out of the cold frame for ages¬ I had some Antirrhinums regrow this year from 2023 sowings. They flowered beautifully this year but as you say, they do go rather leggy in the 2nd year. Great harvest. I have a celeriac, onions, celery, a savoy cabbage, black kale and artichoke to prep this evening. Not sure yet what to make for tea. Oh the excitement of it all, can hardly contain myself, ha ha. Happy growing 🙂

Lovely harvest for the late fall time.
Great onions....I'm plowing through mine too fast this year, need to plant even more next year.
Pansies are such little troopers. The heat of mid summer often kill mine. Crazy how a few make it through our harsh winters though.

Hello Bethan thank you so much for my garlic. i plan to get it in the soil sometime this week ❤❤ . my home garden needs so much work but now that i am free i will be able to get to it. but first i need to enjoy you and others clearing and planting 😅. Everything looks so good when it’s cleared and tidied ☺️. Do you plan to mulch the pots you have tidied? Also do you find that your snap dragons self seed well?
