Drawing VS Sculpting 1 Hour Challenge

Hey gang, Follygon here with another drawing vs sculpting 1 hour challenge video. Sort of a 2D to 3D but with my own sad drawing :,) lol. This is a video series where I "try" to draw a portrait in Procreate and then I sculpt it in ZBrush. I spend only one hour on both to illustrate the difference in my skills with the two as I continually strive to improve what little 2D skills I have. Hope you guys enjoy the video!

Check out some of my favorite videos below!

The sculpting VS drawings are pretty fun to watch!

I think the beauty of this series is that you haven't dropped your old passion while trying to tackle a new one. It's truly inspiring for me (A person who fears dabbling). Can't wait to see more progress in all of your work!

These recent realistic sculpts have been really breathtaking. Even the sculpt at 08:22 before the skin texturing just looks really good. The drawing is also charming. Thank you for sharing.

This is so cool! I hope you keep learning to draw and paint so that you can master painting the same way you have such an amazing ability with sculpting! Really cool work!

I like the way you put yourself in a beginner stat to understand how beginners think so that you can explain better... big respect and thanks a lot Foligon you're so inspiring.

You improved since the last time on the 2d. Good job and keep growing strong in both mediums.

I definitely feel frustration at the discrepancy between my 2D vs 3D art, I definitely have gotten fed up with a sketch, sculpted it out in 3D then do a full paint over. Perhaps not the best approach for improving my 2D art skills though

Am I the only person who thought this was in like 10x speed and was shocked when he said the head took him less than an hour????

I have a question, have you ever used blender before? I really want to get into 3-D art but it seems very timid dating. and I can only afford blender.

The pencil tilting simulates traditional drawing. A common practice in life and gesture drawing.

I honestly thought your 2d art was rather bad but I didn't have any idea your reference material was actually that ugly :I
