2 charged in deadly accident with Corolla wild horse

Two people face charges after a wild stallion was hit by a side-by-side UTV, or utility task vehicle, on the Outer Banks over the weekend. The horse had to be euthanized.

Jail time & loosing their drivers license for a period of time, is in order. The cruel intentions of chasing an animal who is trying to get away, and you ram your vehicle into it is INEXCUSABLE.

How is this not animal cruelty, which is supposedly now a felony offense? They were chasing the horse down the beach and clearly struck him, and regardless of whether they intended to or not, he was gravely injured as a result of their actions. Now they're being charged with some minor misdemeanors? As the law seems unable (or unwilling) to, we can only hope that social media works its magic on these two individuals, and that authorities can eventually introduce another stallion into the herd. This loss will be profoundly destabilizing for the mares.

This is absolutely awful. I am heartbroken over the loss of this beautiful stallion. I did the horse tour that benefits these beautiful amazing creatures. Wish humans would be mindful of these amazing horses.

Horrible, absolutely horrible. This was all preventable too, if only the driver had used care or NOT driven on the beach. And then the cowards ran from the scene, leaving that poor stallion to suffer in pain. They should be charged with a whole lot more than just obstruction and making false statements. This kind of behavior has to be prevented!
