Later, she would look up to the corner of the room and say, "Mom (our grandmother), it won't be long now." I was with my father and it was an honor to take care of him during his last six weeks. My sister and I took care of him round the clock and when he passed I was holding his hand.
He had taken care of me into adulthood and this was my opportunity to repay that love.
He was almost 95 and it was a heartwarming experience to be with him til the end to provide comfort and help alleviate his fears. His father had died three weeks after my dad returned from WW2.
