My first more or less successful game (kinda soft locked) on a 400 system map ended up with like 700% increase on tech costs and with 3 science nexus and a bunch of research world's I was still kicking them out like crazy, I had like 7k research per month per field, 13k engineering.

I've always noodled my way to claim 1/3 of the galaxy out of fear of a small economy and getting boxed in. Think I'll try tall with a bunch of habitats next game. Thanks for the tips!

I feel like new ayers are always going to go wide, becaus that makes sense.

But with a little experience, (ive only got 250 hours in) i can see how a tall empire is just as much fun to play and challenging in its own way.

Its a shame because I want to plow through tech and traditions but also I can never keep playing tall. I always say fuck it and just keep expanding.

What if I play wide but I still subjugate other species and have multiple vassals ?
