Let's go Michael!
Actually there is kind of a reason why we don't consume a lot of fast food,
1_ Too expensive
2_ Not Satiating enough (we eat a lot)
3_ There are some Burguer places a lot better than these.
4_ We preffer Bodegones with real food.
5_ Our definition of fast food is Empanadas, Pizza, and Choripanes or Milanesas, macdonalds, burguer king and mostaza is kind of trash food for us, we love it but we know how bad it is on our health.

The principal reason that theres not other argentinians companies of fast food it's the fact that argentinians in general don't likes artificial taste and enjoy most home made meals tipe like bodegones or small gastronomic neigborghood business

first fast food chain here was called 'Pumper Nic' in the '70s. Pretty much a copy of Burger King. Was succesful cause 'fast food' was completely out of our culture back then. Long story short, Mcdonald's and Burger King arrived at the end of the '80s taking almost the whole market. Prices were never cheap. Those days eating in a fast food like McDonald's was 'exotic', "eating the american way"; you could always eat more and better meat in a traditional bar/restaurant.

I have to desagree with the mall and subte thing. Although I understand what you mean with Abasto having the subte like inside the mall, in the case of Alto Palermo, the subte had one exit that literally had the mall entrance at the end of the stairs

First, the star fast food and our specialty is the lomo/lomito and it fights side by side with the chori, the burger is the third or fourth option after the pizza or the milanesa(sandwich), etc. Second, I think that in Argentina the food chains do not completely cover the market like in the USA. In different provinces and places, in different neighborhoods and social classes, you always find very busy restaurants where they sell the best burgers, which you discover by asking local people (generally it is just one place, it is not a franchise and I see this a lot)

My favourite Argentine Fast Food place is "Burger 54". Their burgers are amazing, they are originally Argentine. My second favourite is Dean and Dennys, also Argentine. They have a great balance between homemade and fast food.

I would say "Carlitos" is another big fast food chain originally from Argentina. But while it has its own burgers is more aimed to what we call "merienda" and what is called "afternoon snack" or something like that in US, is the food before the dinner basically. "Carlitos" specialty are the panqueques with dulce de leche.

I agree michael you spot on its the cheese, always thought that! In cordoba they go with just a pinch of fine sliced onion which gives that extra blow .

Mostaza is for hamburguers what Kentucky is for pizza. Also, love to see Michael! I love you both guys.

Mostaza is basically the closest to a homemade hamburger you cant get. The meat is from Union Ganadera and the bread is from Bimbo. You can buy those in any supermarket. Its good, but you know, it doesn't have that special flavor that the other brands have with their "inhouse" meat.

Meh, Mostaza blows McD's out of the water.

Sorry Chanel and Mike, we can't be friends anymore </3

3:30 YES MICHAEL YES, I've said this to my Mostaza-eating friends all along but they were NOT convinced. To me, their burgers taste like "paty de cancha" the pretty sus burger you eat before or after a partido outside the stadium.

I would recommend Kiddo in Palermo. It's not a chain, but it is more of a fast food experience compared to places like Dean and Denny's. They only have three very traditional types of burgers, fries and chicken nuggets. That's basically the whole menu. It is a bit expenssive tho, around 12 thousand pesos for a burger and fries (without counting drinks). But it si super good and a must-try if you like burgers.

1:49 it's true. Value meals from fast foods chains tend to be more expensive (even if you have coupons or some kind of discount) . For that, like many other countries, we tend to stick to the few places we know of, either your regular mom-n-pop / hole in a wall /corner store or restaurants. But still is fast food, in fact, that type of dishes are known here as minutas (like milanesa, tortilla de papa, certain pastas, etc) because it takes little to no time to be served.

Algo muy positivo de Mostaza es la opción para celiacos (gluten free), mucho mejor a la que ofrecen los otros. Básicamente por que el pan, en esta versión, es muy superior al de las otras cadenas.
