How To Play Crossroads by Cream-First Lead Verse-Eric Clapton Guitar Lesson
Показать описание
"Crossroads" or "Cross Road Blues" was written by early blues legend Robert Johnson and recorded in 1936. Johnson performed it as a solo piece with his vocal and acoustic slide guitar in the Delta blues-style. The song has become part of the Robert Johnson mythology as referring to the place where he supposedly sold his soul to the Devil in exchange for his musical talents..... Cream popularized the song as "Crossroads" in the late 1960s. Their blues rock interpretation inspired many cover versions and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame included it as one of the "500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll". Rolling Stone placed it at number three on the magazine's list of the "Greatest Guitar Songs of All Time" in recognition of Clapton's guitar work.
I have a passion for music and a passion for teaching and I have been immersed in music my whole life. My father was the guitarist with the 60's & 70's roots-rock band Mother Earth. I was so fortunate to grow up in the rich musical scene here in Austin, Texas.
Starting when I was a young kid, I was able to sit in with, and open the shows for, many blues legends-guys like Albert Collins, Buddy Guy, Albert King, Jimmie Vaughan, Johnny Winter, Ottis Rush and B.B. King. I was able to learn first hand from these players how to really be a great blues guitarist!
