I absolutely feel called to do what I do. But greater than being called to be a singer, I am called to go out and make disciples. I am quite grateful that one of the ways I can do that is by sharing my music with others.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

Your story is very interesting to me because I went though a similar thing, God used music to help me through a rough time in my life where I was depressed and alone. Now I play guitar and lead worship at my church. After taking some free college courses online I'm now work on producing a independent ccm album. Yes music is my passion and if God is willing I'm going to do the singer/songwriter thing. but if not that I'll probably go into music production. : )

Sister Jamie, I am 39 year old father of 6 children from 19-2 years old and a 3 month old granddaughter. you brought me to tears. because you said exactly what I needed to hear about my calling. I agree 1000% preaching the Gospel and making disciples is our 1st job. I am a truck driver of 2 decades. and I'm transitioning to a full-time pastor discipleship is under way. GOD bless you

I love this! I’m a musician also. My main instrument is the trumpet, and I can also play piano and guitar. I’m also starting out as a composer. I believe that music can touch and comfort people in a way that not many other things can. I want the music I play and write to give people hope and help them realize that there’s someone who loves them more than they can ever imagine. I want people to hear my music, realize that I have hope and peace, and come to a point where they want that too.

Jamie, you have given me a great idea/plan/thingy! My entire life I've loved to talk, and tell stories. Put me in a conversation, and I can pull random facts up about the topic. I am literally always talking! I haven't thought about it until now, but I also love to speak, and read, in front of other people. I'm still a kid in school, but public speaking or something similar might be something I'm interested in! I REALLY love to speak, and am so glad I have a voice. If I didn't I don't know what I would do. You probably won't be able to see this mini-speech, but thank you for bringing this idea to light. (You can probably already tell I love to speak, and write speeches) ❤😜
