This is my first Youtube video on philosophy, based on an essay I have written for A-level Philosophy. For the essay I am supposed to argue for a position, not just introduce an issue. That is why this video may sound arrogant.

Paul Churchland's wife, Patricia Churchland, is also a philosopher and an eliminative materialist. But Paul Churchland's paper is what I have learned about in school so I discussed only him.

I really liked the 'useful fiction' argument. Leibniz deemed infinitesimals in calculus a useful fiction. To eliminate infinitesimals from calculus would be absurd.
