Discovering Therapeutic Approaches to Diabetic Neuropathy

Daniela M. Menichella, MD, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Neurology (Neuromuscular Disease) and Pharmacology, studies the molecular and electrophysiological mechanisms underlying a common and untreatable complication of diabetes called painful diabetic neuropathy. The goal of her laboratory is to find therapeutic targets to treat the pain and reverse the damage of the nerves in patients with painful diabetic neuropathy.
