He Became Imam of Madinah 16 Years After Taking Part in a Qur'an Competition There

Alhamdulillah I was there in Masjid Nabwi a few days ago. I prayed taraweeh in Riyadhul Jannah by Allah's Inaam. When I listened him recite, I was thinking to myself who is this Qari? I thought to search for him, and here, I got a notif from ilmfeed SubhanAllah

May Allāh Reward Our Shaykh for His Efforts and Concern He Has For His Students. He was one of the first that I read to in Hafs for an Ijāzah. A Gem May Allāh Preserve Him. It almost feels surreal when we heard the appointment as a Guest Imām, everyone in Al-Madinah had it coming and expected it at some stage but still felt surreal.

I recall Our Shaykh [حفظه الله] saying after the first night he led, since the beginning at Fātihah: anyone who knows the Shaykh’s recitation knows it wasn’t normal, seemed like nerves had kicked in. I asked him about it, and he responded saying:

The Moment got to me, When I first made the Takbīr, I recalled the days when I was a youth listening to the likes of Muhammad Ayyub and Al-Hudhayfi reciting from this very mihrāb.
