Saudi Arabian court sentences former imam of Mecca's Great Mosque to 10 years in prison

The former imam of the Grand Mosque of Mecca has been sentenced to ten years in prison by Saudi authorities according to rights groups, overturning a previous acquittal from the Specialised Criminal Court.

Sheikh Saleh al-Taleb was first arrested in August 2018, no official explanation was given for his detention.

Umayyad Dynasty ended after Persecution of Islamic scholars ie: Umar Ibn Abdul Azeez...
Abbasid fall after persecution of Islamic Imams and Scholars such as Imam Abu Hanifa, Shafii and Imam Malik.. and also Ibn Taymiyyah (RH)..

Scholars was persecuted by Governments. It's not a new thing. It's a glad tidings for that scholar... Like When Haji Zainab arrested and tourchered by Gamal Abdel Nasser and Sheikh Albani tourchered by Saudi and Syria...
