The point of prison in this country has NEVER been to reform anyone. Once you get that in your head then it all makes sense.

I think the blond woman is still going through a lot. It usually takes a crap ton of therapy and years of effort to get through the impact prison has, and she just got out a couple of years ago. Hopefully, she is going to get better and stronger!😊

I adore Raymond! Every time he is in a video, I'm gonna watch! He seems like he's really turned his life around and is such a great person, and whenever he talks about his kids, you can just tell what a deeply loving father he is. Adore him!

as long as prison is a business it's never going to get better

From what I can tell, Raymond got arrested for doing what needed to be done. It's a shame he was scarred the way he was there.

2:14 That is so sad. Sorry, you had to go through that dude! You seem like a better person, and your girlfriend is so sweet for judging you for you, and not your tattoos!😊

I like the way Raymond answered that “are you reformed question”

The way the blonde woman brushed over the DV assault, then her gf said it was dumb she got in trouble for breaching the restraining order to contact her ex is… unsettling

This is incredible, honest and humanizing. Really good entry for those unaware at how draconian the American Judicial system is.

Like Raymond said most ppl are doing longer sentences because they can't afford to fight the crime, nothing about prison is about reform. It's literally modern day slavery.

This is not to say some ppl don't belong but for the ones who can't afford to be are doomed when they get out. That needs to change.

Yeah the blonde chick needs therapy. And those two dont seem like they fit each other very well.

They remind me of the two junkies who never break up.

Sad thing is, prison has always been about punishment and isolation(from the rest of society). Not reform. I wish it was different, but unfortunately it will probably be a long time before it is, if it ever is.

I would love to hear more about Raymond's story. Just what we got to hear in this video is insane. Being convicted at 16yo for a crime you didn't commit? Being arrested for existing in a public space? I'm so sorry you had to live through that. A huge fear of mine is being accused of something I never did. Terrifying. 😢

I love this and the last note that Raymond said. It’s so true. Just because some people are in prison it doesn’t make them less human and not everyone in there is the same stereotype people often think of or label them as. You realize a lot more about it when you’re curious and have family members that have been in the system. The stereotypes can sting. The prison system needs more reform in areas. Sometimes it really does set certain people back and I wonder is the “lesson” ever gotten over when you spend so much of your life after prison stilll paying for something you did a long time ago. Depends on the crime for sure though. I don’t think it’s something as simple as people try to make it and shouldn’t be treated as a blanket concept of “dealing” with it. Some people need real help and mental health advocacy.
