You have a pretty awesome dad. I'm assuming that is your dad anyway. Being a father, and the son of one who taught me a great deal, its always good seeing a parental figure teaching an art form to the next generation. Great video. I'm greatly enjoying your artwork.

Great video. I did my first copper wire inlay last week and it came out pretty good. I chose to use a small precision screw driver and I sharpened the flat end so I would get a more even cleaner channel for the wire. It takes longer with the precision screwdriver but I get a cleaner channel. I used 18 gauge wire and then I flattened the wire with my Pepe Tool rolling mill. Anyway great job and thanks for the information.

What was the shape of the wire? Round? Or did you buy it flat....or perhaps hammer round wire into flatness?
Very excellent completed product!

Late to the party here but - did you find the copper stayed shiny over time under the resin top coat?

Is that flat head sharpened or just straight pounded into the wood?

Looks great. What was that you put over it at the end?

Thanks for sharing the video.  One safety related thing I wanted to mention, though.  Unless I am mistaken, it looks like you are using a sliding compound-miter saw to cut the wood and you pulled it towards you after plunging it into the wood.  That is very dangerous.  That tool is meant to be pulled towards you, THEN plunged into the wood, and then pushed AWAY FROM YOU WHILE YOU CUT.  I'm not trying to be a know-it-all here, I just felt compelled to comment from a safety standpoint.  I hope you understand.  Thanks again for sharing a very cool video.  Cheers!

After you sanded it, was that a higher grit sandpaper you put on, or was that a leather strop to polish?

Try to answer all the questions, as I had manjy of them...size of wire, for instance. what was that liquid at the end? HOw long did it take to dry? sandpaper number? See?

What let you down here is the size of the chisel you used and your wood working skills.

So many people use glue and I just don't get it. It is way easier and less messy to just use water.

Did you flatten the copper wire before "inlaying" it? if so, is there a way to do it without a roller? Thanks and awesome job!

What is it that you mix and put on the top at the end?

It would have been nice to go through the process slower and show us up close views of the tiny details. Otherwise cool design!
