For many first-time visitors to China and Asia, telling people apart from one another can be a bit of an akward challenge at first – it can be a struggle to get used to a country where the vast majority of people have very similar hair colors, eye colors, body shapes and skin tones. In social psychol-ogy, this is called the “cross-race effect,” a theory that has been studied for decades, and has shown that people have a tendency to more easily recognize people from their own race, and can find it difficult to distinguish between people from other races.

So the Japanese Asian guy was unable to see the difference between Asian girls faces. Doesn't that prove the Cross race effect in a very bad way. Then again putting a Chinese person in the test might of been better I guess.

Not sure what this test proved. The Asian dudes did not do better than the non-Asians.
