Using Splitters and Amplifiers in Home TV Antenna Systems

The simplest solution to adding another TV to a home OTA antenna system is probably using a splitter to divide the signal to each TV, but splitting a signal up too much can cause reception problems or even channel loss. Another option is to use a splitter in conjunction with a signal amplifier, or even a powered splitter. Which one you choose depends on how you want the signal split or combined. I go through some options in this video.

I can only find them by mail order, but drop taps work a lot better than splitters for multiple sets. They look a lot like splitters, but feed 3.5 to 5 decibel to each output. The remaining signal is sent down the line to the next output. Contrast that with a splitter; on a two-way splitter, half the signal is automatically gone. I happened upon some leftover drop taps when I evicted the cable company.

I have a Rocketfish 1-In/4-Out Cable Bidirectional Amplifier RF-G1179 TV antenna amplifier. My question, just to be sure, is to connect the digital window TV antenna to the INPUT/Power lead of the Rocketfish amplifier and THEN to connect a coax cable from the output of the amplifier to the INPUT on my television...is this correct please? If not, please tell me how to connect the amplifier to my simple 1-television system please. THANK YOU!!!

I bought a channel master 2 antenna combiner (to 1 tv) for $19 from channel master's ebay page. Cheaper one's might work, but they might have lower quality resolution.

Get that amplified antenna signal away from your cable signal. Putting them together on a diplexer will push interference to the cable plant and they'll disconnect you for backfeeding ingress into your neighborhood.
