Dan Durston introduces the Iceline trekking poles. These poles use a more weight efficient design to create the world's lightest 3 piece trekking pole while also being stronger and more reliable than comparable poles. They offer the compactness of a 3 piece pole and the reliability of an external adjuster, while weighing just 134 g (4.7oz).

Man, I really want to like these poles. A lot. You are missing out on the FastPacking crowd. If there were a connection between the two separate pieces, these would make such an amazing trail running pole. Kinda like how the black diamond poles have a wire that permanently keeps separate pieces connected, and all you have to do is flick it out. These seem more robust and lighter, but having to consciously attach them each and every time would be a hurdle in a race.

These have so much going for them. It's amazing how this company actually offers replacement parts, too. And the trail running crowd is more likely to break sections.
An easier flip out, and maybe cork grips, I'd be all over these. Even if it made the poles slightly heavier, these would be very competitive in the Fastpack/ Trail running scene.

Dan did it again! Can't wait to see how they do in the field.

Interesting, the design would make it possible to create a tripod by connecting the two lower parts with something like a voile strap and then sticking the 3 sticks in a 3D printed connector with the camera screw.
Products like this exist but so far a solo trekker would obviously need to carry a third pole/stick.

Not sure if there would be enough demand for you to create something, but I would love to see it. Ultralight tripods with a similar height weigh over 500 grams, this would easily be below that while you also get to have trekking poles. Or you could even get a full height tripod by using the trekking poles plus a Z Flick pole.

As others have said, would be great if they had wrist straps, or at least a slot where we could add straps that were sold separately. While lighter poles may lessen how much you need straps, I find the straps aren't any real help when lifting the poles, they're important for me when pushing down on the poles. And no matter how light the pole is, I'm still pushing on the ground through it. If you do a wrist strap, please make it removable, I've never really seen that feature on other hiking poles. (and it might allow you to leave the weight of the strap out of the weight of the base pole, so it can still impress the gram weenies. Those of us who will put the straps on don't care how much the straps weigh anyway)

That being said, these poles look awesome, great job Dan!

Been hiking with trekking poles all of my life and saw everything.
The strength of the poles can be a game changer. But, without the strap all the weight savings are not that big. 35 grams. To me, the strap is necessary if I want to be able to do things with my hands at the same time without them falling. Its very different from holding two poles with one hand.

I was 100% in for purchasing UNTIL I saw No Straps. Appreciate you want the world record for lightest pole but please add a option for straps or you will lose a lot of business here for no real good reason. Thanks for the innovation. Cheers
