This last theme is probably the most "epic positive vibe" Fromsoft has ever composed. It feels so hopeful, that's not common at all

I feel that the three pieces used in the trailer, represent Marika, Messmer, and finally Miquella

The three impaled corpses are most likely the three (probably Omen) who were "controlling" the lion chinese-dragon-costume creature seen in the previous scene

Fun fact: Miyazaki himself stated in interviews that Messmer carries a “heroism” to his character. One would assume, since he’s enacting mass genocide, that this means Messmer sees himself as a hero - for a yet to be revealed reason - in his own story. This would back up your point about the sopranos

The Score that comes in after you see St. Trina falling into an abyss (miquella’s alter ego) and a tarnished/follower of miquella touching the grace gives me chills and genuinely brought me to tears when i heard it

Saying Miquellas piece is like a lullaby is very fitting. Since his alter ego is St. Trina who is tied to sleep and dreams

One fact a lot of people don't know:

A YouTuber by the name of Antonius Tertius went through the trouble of getting into contact with various music producers and singers who worked on Elden Ring- to discover more about the faux-Latin used in the game. When researching 'The Final Battle', the producer of the Elden Beast's theme actually confirmed that when he was producing the track, it was produced under the title "Marika". Perhaps you could consider it as another signifier to the identity of the first person in the trailer.

To me, Marika's scene with the background of the Elden Beast OST stresses just how horrifying the rise of the Golden Order was. The second scene with Messmer shows the truth of how Marika's order was established. By genocide, and something so horrifying that it "could never be put to song".

Those are the two sides of the coin - the connection with the cosmos and the beastly nature of power. For all of the talk we hear about the Golden Order being natural, the truth of the matter is that it was a construct created and enforced by violence. Messmer probably did something so messed up that Marika distanced herself from his actions and banished him.

The scene with Miquella feels almost like a kid trying to unfu*k the wrongs of his parents. Hopeful. Moving forward. Uplifting.

I apologize in advance for my English. Regarding the angelic soprano in the Messmer scene, there's actually a theory that Messmer genuinely thinks what he's doing is good. So your point about juxtaposition is a very good one.

The impaled figures in the center screen are the lion dancers. One pike for the person controlling the upper body and the other pike for the person controlling the lower half of the lion

I reckon the music playing around 1:28 will definitely be Messmer's phase two music. Especially considering that Malenia's second phase music was in the original ER story trailer.

I feel it should also be noted that the music at the start - the Elden Beast / Greater Will theme - is also the motif that plays when Melina burns herself to burn the Erdtree. The two interpretations I have of this are that:
- it might be possible that whoever we're seeing (likely Miquella) could be doing something of great consequence, like Melina
- DLC takes place post-Final Battle

In the trailer, in the part with Miquella ( 1:55 - 2:05 ), I think you can hear in the music the actual Latin words, "AVE MARIKA AETERNA" ( Ave Marika Eternal )

"Is Messmer really the bad guy?"

Bro can read the future through notes and music

The lullaby bit hits different if you know about Saint Trina and her relation to Miquella. Marco hitting the nail on the head as usual.

I wonder how much of this OST Kitamura composed, since she left fromsoft recently

This definitely has her 'sound' to it, love the trailer, that final segment is INTENSE

8:32 That's what I had heard too, but the captions said "we are not deterred", which aligns quite nicely with your analysis.

this is one of their best trailers they have ever released, and the music is part of the reason. It sent chills down my spine, specially the last ost. The moment in the title drop is absolutely blissful. It looks like the dlc ost is going to take a even further step into quality than the main game, and it's interesting to note how different in style and tone the last ost sounds compared to normal From osts.

The first track is very similar to the Elden Beast theme. That scene describes 'the birth of gold'
I think this is the Summoning of thr Elden Beast. When the 'Golden Star' came to the Lands Between.
