Vizio V5 Series TV Review (2021) – Worth It For A Budget Option?

preview_player
Показать описание
The Vizio V5 Series 2021 is an entry-level 4k TV that replaces the Vizio V Series from 2020. It offers okay overall performance and, as expected from an entry-level model, it's pretty limited on extra features. How does the TV stack up against other models in this price range? Is it worth it if you're on a budget?

I'm very glad to hear few more words and your general impressions about upscaling.

We don't mind the ads, as long as you continue to post High quality videos. Google is just being google.

We have a similar TV - an entry level TCL S405. Without the Roku TV it would not be worth it, but as a Roku TV with a quasi-HDR color gamut (just missing some brightness), it's honestly, fantastic for what it costs. In a dim room, a TV like this works great, it makes a great bedroom TV or 43" monitor or TV in the study-room. I think people should take notice that this TV has one of the highest native contrasts of a non-OLED TV - anywhere, bar none. Vizio always seems to be able to deliver something outstanding in even their entry-level TVs.

How can you use the u6g as a comparable TV at the end? It’s $300 more. About 50% the cost added to the tv… A6G would have been a direct comparison. Giving me TV envy for something well out of my price range…

A little info about the 2022 V585M-K version. I had the 2021 version (V585-j) but the panel went bad and VIZIO sent me the newer 2022 version. Seems like they just removed things that I actually used.

2022 removed RCA AV inputs, so no older devices without an adapter. 2022's power cord is not detachable, so if the cord goes bad/gets damaged, you're screwed. For some reason I'm no longer able to control the volume on my TV speakers, and my stereo speakers (RCA audio out to old stereo system) simultaneously. I was able to do it with the 2021 so maybe I'm just doing something wrong. 480p channels on OTA have weird, unadjustable aspect ratios.

Don't want an update to bork my TV, so I've disallowed network access. Using it as a dumb tv with a Chromecast 4K.

Honestly for the difference in Price go with the new Vizio M Series. You get so much more for $200 - $300 more and most people expect TV's to last 5 - 7 Years at least so not that much more to enjoy a better TV Experience

I have this tv in our bedroom. My one complaint is the power cord is built into the unit and not removable

Your information is wrong regarding the HDMI ports being 2.0. The HDMI ports are 2.1 on this TV.

Speaking of your comment about build quality, I didn't find it any worse compared to past flat screen TVs that I had.

I have the 2020 version the 4k Is pretty good also the gaming engine is nice the only negative I have is that the TV does flicker especially when I'm watching a movie or playing a game that has a lot of nature around like grass, when I move the camera around while gaming I can see the trees and grass flickering. Which is annoying.

This must be a outdated video because the newest V655 J09 has HDMI 2.1 with VRR although it's is still limited to 60FPS .According to the factory specs it's VRR is 48 - 60 FPS . Sub 10 ms input lag . And it's ability to upscale from 1080 is very good . I Can't speak about its ability to upscale below 1K . Colors look great. Games like Ghost Of Tushima, Guardians of the Galaxy, Horizon Zero + Forbidden West, Spiderman / Miles Morales the HDR on those games look very good on this TV .

So the website for this TV says it has HDMI 2.1 but with a 60hz panel im confused? Does it not actually have HDMI 2.1?

This review has way different information than what Vizio has on their website. Why is that? You say their hdmi inputs are 2.0 and yet here on their official website it says hdmi 2.1. Also you say that it doesn’t support VRR and yet, again, their website says it does, AMD freesync. Not to mention I don’t think you talked about it supporting 12bit color. Did you guys mention Bluetooth at all?

Without component in no world would I hook a PS2 to this set. With what modern sets do with older devices composite isnt something that im able to really find a use for. Im sure that some still use it (composite) when they want a sense of nostalgia and they dont have any other cables. They just dont understand why the picture will look worse than it did on a SDTV.
Anything else on hand
Great video.

This is a very low end so called smart TV I just bought one and could instantly tell it was a generic smart TV just by build quality and doesn't do well when hooked to a outdoor antenna. Plus it does Not come with a operators manual.
