China's military carried out aerial and naval blockade drills around Taiwan on April 10, its last scheduled day of exercises, with a Chinese aircraft carrier joining in combat patrols as Taipei reported another surge of warplanes near the island.

China only takes the EU seriously if it believes that the US is firmly supportive of Europe. It is therefore foolhardy for Macron to always play this European strategic autonomy agenda. France needs to understand that it has no strategic parity with China or the US. Thus, Macron needs to show a strong unity of purpose between Europe and the US and not any pretence of an independent European policy.

There's no such thing as a median line. Nobody recognizes it? Taiwan's fighter jets used to fly beyond that line too decades ago when the Taiwan side was stronger than the Mainland side. Btw, The Taiwan Strait is China's domestic waters. They can fly anywhere in the strait they like.
