My father his two brothers and my grandfather all wasted probably 40 years looking for the lost Dutchman mine. It is out there! But I doubt we'll ever find it. There are many things that play in the superstition mountains! Many things most people don't understand..

My Grandfather Gordon was born & raised in Roosevelt, AZ & told me old stories about the LDGM; he was born in early 1900's, and had listened to the very old timers and passed it on to me.

Was he a Dutchman or Deutschmann? Jacob Walts or Jakob Waltz? It makes sense that Deutschlanders would study a Deutschmann not a Dutchman. Many German people were misidentified as Dutch due to immigrating and identifying Deutschland as their place of embarking which was mischaracterized as being Dutch people. Can you clarify, please? My grandfather thought all his life he was Dutch, having lived in Pennsylvania Dutch country, until taking up his family genealogy. Surprise, German ancestry.

Who or what is this Dutchman and why do we care? Seems like a rather obscure legend to be talking about as if everyone knew of it.

I just get stuck on the thought of where he built his house close to the Salt River and from there he went up into the mountains to the LDGM. In my mind I want to see where it is secreted and untouched but then you have all these people saying that gold cannot be in that area because it's solid rock wo mineral deposit. Listen to experts guidance and you keep only seeing purpose to find gold where gold can only be found in it's purest form. People saying it's already been found? I challenge that notion bc of the same caves looking the same simuliar to the GM.
