Taiwan may be much richer than China (twice China's per capita income) and rank much higher on the World Happiness Index, and have more personal freedoms, and be more popular globally with visa free travel to most countries, and have more traditional Chinese culture including their writing system. But we must remember, China is BIG.

I appreciate what the CPC do to its ppl, by lifting them out of poverty, but trust me. Real appreciation is always shown if the other parties sincerely thank you, not u want others to thank you for showing kindness. That is helping others with insincerity. I have heard accounts that Chinese officials wanted the recepients of China's supplies aid to thank China. That is not goodwill。That is bad will. Hope that u learn a lesson. If u want your citizens to show CCP appreciation, just govern the country well. No need to make a program specifically to praise the CCP...that is counter productive. Even if this year is the centennial of CPC founding, there need not be celebrated in a mass scale. That will only draw other attention. CPC must learn to accept criticism, especially constructive criticism instead of censoring others at the first sign of resentment.
