TOURING a massive, one of a kind, 6,000 sq. ft New York style Penthouse at The Singer Lofts in Downtown Los Angeles.

Are you a fan of loft style units?

You know those beautiful, massive, almost industrial feeling spaces characterized by by their high ceilings, large open spaces, exposed beams and pipes, polished concrete floors, exposed brick, and often times floor to ceiling windows that make you go ooooohhhh.

Well I don’t know about you but I definitely am however when it comes to loft style units in L.A, we definitely aren’t close to the top of that list relative to some of our counterparts that dominate the loft game like New York. New York sets the benchmark when it comes to loft style residences which were primarily industrial and commercial buildings that have now been converted to lofts / residences and although Los Angeles has no shortage in the style and diversity of beautiful homes we offer, loft style units are definitely not our strong suit…. until now.

Located in the Fashion District of Downtown L.A on the historic Broadway Theatre Corridor above the Tower Theatre, The Singer Lofts brings us 6 truly unique and one of a kind loft residences which at first sight make you double guess that you are in Downtown L.A and not SOHO. I for one can tell you that when I first walked into these units, my eyes lit up and my jaw dropped to the floor and I may still be partially stuck in that state.

Converted from an original 1920’s building, each unit at the Singer Lofts includes an entire floor dedicated to each unit (that means no neighbors) with all of the bells and whistles one would expect from an updated loft unit and more yet keeping the character and integrity of the original style. Features include an elevator leading directly into your unit, spaces spanning 5,500-6,000 sq. ft yet separated on both ends with master suites, beautifully refinished concrete, exposed brick, custom wood flooring, 10 ft. windows, private terraces and patios, and of course, views of the Downtown L.A skyline and the historic Tower Theatre. What more can we ask for :)

I will stop right there and let you take a peek for yourself.

This is what I call a slice of N.Y in L.A: The Singer Lofts

Enjoy the tour.

There are lots of old school lofts in the Arts District and farther south, but they've gotten insanely expensive. I moved out of 1001 E. 1st in 2001 when the new owners doubled everbody's rent. That was a great old loft building but squatters burned it down in 2018.

Is there a parking space in the building?

Great presentation! Beautiful Loft! Are any of these units occupied yet? Do they all have hardwood floors, or are some of the units have concrete floors? Do you think the owners would have a problem with a tenant putting a BBQ grill on the terrace?

My monthly income probably would cover the monthly house cleaning fee for that damn unit!

The problem with these downtown high-end lofts is you can't reliably walk down the street anywhere in that area without risk. The homeless situation is getting mitigated no doubt in recent years, but its still present....enough to be of concern...and when they get pushed out of one neighborhood they squeeze into another. Plus the rat problem shows up when you least expect it - hundreds of rats emerge and scurry across the street. No thanks I'm keeping my estate where I have safety and comfort and quietness. I lived the downtown lifestyle during my twenties in NYC and LA. Fun at the time, overrated now. As far as getting to your job quickly...new options are coming soon.
