You know Pen when I go visit my family who live in a township and I see what some of those people have done with their homes over the years, you can literally drag and drop their homes into any fancy suburb and i include my moms house. No exorbitant salaries, not athletes or academics, just normal middle class people who invested in their homes. So it possible to live in those type of homes we see in the fancy suburbs, unless the ambition is to actually live in those suburbs.

Problem with athletes, especially soccer players, is that they earn that 200 or 300k a months for a very short period.. they will never play that sport for 20 years, and that is how long a bond is.. most of them dont pay off their homes, then when the sport career is over, we find they hav problems to pay bills.. if you a sports person earning 200k, dont buy a 15M house, but a 5M house and pay it off in 5 years, that is wealth creation.. if its paid off and u still playing sports, go buy another 5M house that u can rent out and pay off.. once u retire, u have 2 homes worth 7M earn by then and u geting 40k rental on 1 house.. but sadly, especially in soccer, their in no mentors teaching guys these things

Thats what most people don't think of when they dream, even a R5million house need R50 000 meaning you should be making 3X that amount to afford the rates the upkeep and the lifestyle in general.
