Who's here after watching Mr.Ballen??

His parents could have prevented this by getting him the help he desperately needed. He was showing signs of mental instability that whole summer.

He was acting psychotic for a LONG time. I hate to blame his parents but they should have gotten him mental help because he was not hiding his mental breakdown & it seems that they just kept ignoring it.

I remember reading a book by a European psychologist written in the late 1800s and there was a passage that really stood out to me. I can't remember the exact phrasing but it basically said something like "the most terrifying thing any human being can ever experience is a loss of control over their own mind and thoughts"
That passage really helped put into perspective the nightmare that severe mental illness is. It's something that cannot even be imagined

His family failed him by not having him committed when he started seeing demons and running around the house at night. Talking about being half dog.

Shows more emotion than Chris Watts who killed his wife and kids.

"Doctor" Phil is the one of the worst interviewers I've ever watched. He's just trying to make him feel bad and get a reaction.

I think he’s telling the truth. He’s as sorry as he can be for something he has no memory of. What if we woke up to discover we’d done something awful? This has to be terrifying for him too.

This is such an horrendous situation. So many lives ruined needlessly. Not to point fingers, this is definitely a very hard situation, but i feel like if i walked in on my kid drinking vegetable oil the first place i would be taking him is to a hospital not back to a restaurant. There were many warning signs here that i feel went ignored. If family or friends begin acting in any sort of odd unusual out of character way it is so important to get medical intervention! Both these families are victims 💔

This poor boy was totally let down by his neglectful parents. What a tragedy for everyone involved.

So sad for the innocent victims but I can’t help feeling this young man has been majorly failed by his parents. Even now they are minimising his actions. Parents should have done more to help their son

I truly believe he had a psychotic break and was absolutely not in control of his actions when he attacked those people. This is an absolute tragedy.

When he gets asked “do you think you are mentally ill” and he answers with “I guess so” while you can tell by his face that even he doesn’t know that other side of himself and the confusion in his voice because he has no choice but answer with “I guess so” even though he looks like he feels normal and doesn’t remember anything about it is so sad

My God, this could happen to any one of us, his so unwell, the mind is so complex and fragile. He is so lost. I pray he finds peace somehow. I hope the people looking after him do a life changing amazing job. He needs a Miracle.

Everything about this case is incredibly disturbing, tons of unanswered questions.

His voice sounds like he is afraid of himself like he can't control himself as if he has some beast within him like a werewolf but worse than that

"Are you ashamed of what you did?" why was that necessary after literally watching him break down? He quite obviously isn't stable, he was in an insane condition while committing the crime and was completely unconscious of what he was doing at the time after even claiming he had no memory of it afterwards and wouldn't have known he did it if he wasn't told so (this was confirmed by a professional). I feel this interview was insensitive and unnecessary for not only him but for the victims and the affected family also. May the couple who were victims rest in peace. It breaks my heart that this couldn't have been avoided if the parents had made an effort to get him the proper help he so desperately needed instead of almost ignoring all of the obvious things that were going on.

Never thought l would say this but l believe him, there is no way anyone could do what he did and not be insane

This is a tragic case where everyone loses. Really don’t think he had control of his faculties.

It's so sad he's clearly unwell and his parents were negligent in my opinion for not getting him the help he so clearly needed
