The music video was directed by Derek Jarman and features two intercut storylines; one filmed in black and white, and the other in colour.

This track is included in SMASH - The Singles 1985 - 2020. The complete collection of Pet Shop Boys singles in chronological order. “SMASH" will be released on Parlophone on June 16th in a variety of formats including 3CD box set, 6LP vinyl box set and digitally, as well as two special limited edition formats available exclusively via the Pet Shop Boys store – 6LP white vinyl box set and 3-cassette box set. A 3CD/2Blu-ray edition will also be released which includes the complete video collection of the singles plus extras.

One of my favourite PSB songs/videos….I’m a train driver and the train you see pulling into King’s Cross in the video number 43077 I’ve actually driven numerous times over a 19 year period between Leeds and London and she always reminds me of this song ❤️

Feel like this song is going to be revisited a lot after SALTBURN. The video was directed by the great Derek Jarman and I think Saltburn has quite a few Derek Jarman-esque moments as well.

Experiencing the music in the 80s was an indescribable feeling. The hits, the beginning of the home computer c64 and atari are legendary. I miss that time very much and with the Pet Shop Boys it's like traveling back in time. Great band.

I was a young girl and a teenager in the 80s/90s and although I was a metal fan, I also loved the Pet Shop Boys especially and other synth pop bands like Erasure, the Communards, Depeche Mode... I know the PSB were singing about being gay but it was more than that - I'm autistic but not diagnosed until my 40s, I'm female and heterosexual - but songs like this talked to me. Made it ok to be "different". And the music is just wonderful. My mother loved them too. Thank you Pet Shop Boys!
