This was the song that got me hooked on PSB. I saw them perform this on Top Of The Pops. The bass line scorched me. The melody is so melancholy yet unsettling. Shortly thereafter I bought the album "Actually". It took another 5 years before I actually got the meaning of the lyrics, which stunned me. 32 years later as a songwriter and producer in my own right, I realize just how full on mad the synths are. The production is incomprehensible. This must be one of the most overlooked and underrated songs in their repertoire.

The Pet Shop Boys have been one of my favorite groups for a long time. When I hear their music, I get very nostalgic. The 80s sure were a better time. And the Pet Shop Boys were cute!

A classic song I will never forget. I never was listening to western albums during that time, say 1987 or so. My living in the deserts of Abudhabi, UAE, compelled me to buy albums. I purchased in plenty the audio cassettes. This was the best one. Now though i have lost all my collections, after a lot of searching i am getting in many versions. Closest is another one known as BEST of 1987 album. Thank you for kindling memories.
