"Cat City is a movie about a cat who runs away from home to start a new life in the city. The cat is trying to live on his own, but his life away from home isn’t what he imagined it would be. Despite his initial success, he becomes disillusioned by the whole ordeal rather than finding fulfillment or happiness. He becomes depressed due to lack of sleep and the repetitive nature of his life, and he turns to alcohol to cope with the stress. It all goes downhill from there. I wanted to portray a world where a character’s experience in the physical world is a reflection of their emotional turmoil. In a way, it parallels my own experience of growing up and leaving home to pursue what I thought was my dream, and then slowly realizing it wasn’t what I thought it would be."

I think the meaning behind this cartoon is that there is no deeper meaning, everything should be taken literally

He changed so much and tried so hard to escape something positive in his life for freedom. A trade off that sounds terribly bitter sweet. And to come home defeated and genuinely lost to open arms.. Feels good man. Feels bad man.
