When you think of Istanbul, cats are not likely to be the first thing that comes to mind.

This ancient city is famous for so much, but it’s cats??

I remember years ago, my brother Jim told me he loved this place because all of the cats he saw here...

But where did they all come from?

Perhaps the one thing that shaped this city, more than any other influence was Islam…

I just arrived from Istanbul...it was amazing....cats sleeping peacefully everywhere...in restaurants, cafes , shops, bookshops, and everybody feeding them everyday...they love them❤❤ all cats are friendly there and allows you to touch them❤❤❤❤❤❤

I think it would be fun to visit Istanbul and see the cats and market places and some of the Mosques. A lot of history there and interesting things to see. Yes! I do own a cat named Cleo and love her very much! Cats rock! 😊

I’m lucky I get to visit Istanbul and Turkey at least 4 times a year and I always carry cat treats with me when I’m out and about !
