FIRST DRIVE: The CR-V is redesigned for 2023 and Honda tried to make some bi changes. This compact SUV competes with the Nissan Rogue, Mazda CX-5, Subaru Forester, Toyota RAv4, Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage. On the outside of the EX-L trim you will fin LED headlights, gloss black grill, and new sheet metal. On the outside there is a new interior based off the Honda Civic, 9in infotainment screen, and leather seating. Under the hood the is a 1.5L turbocharged inline-4 that produces 190HP & is mated to a CVT. Is the 2023 Honda CR-V a new SUV worth the PRICE?

Every year I keep thinking about upgrading my 2007 CRV, but it still drives like a charm and has been paid for for over 13 years. Guess I’ll give it another five years or so…

CR-V was never about 0-60 time, same with the RAV4, but both are top sellers in their class. Personal zero to 60 is not a selling point for me, reliability is tops, my Accord sport has 175k miles, and may not impress you 0-60 but I out mileage most with an 80 miles an hour avg from San Antonio to Kansas with no issues.

Not bad but guess I was expecting a little more from Honda considering how competitive this segment is, more power, better wheel design, more tech, more upscale interior, all things I'd love to have seen here

Joe's videos are so great I give them a thumbs up sometimes before even watching. The best reviews in existence!

Looks nice and updated, but I will keep my 2017 Touring, don't see much more of an update to justify paying more. I get 6.8L/100 which is close to the current Hybrid. That being said, for anyone looking for a new great reliable CUV with fantastic gas mileage than this should be one of your top 3 picks!

EX-L at that price should be way more pimped out! I'd still take this over a Hyundai/KIA for long term reliability but they're way behind in terms of interior bling.

Something I dont get is last generation you got LED turn signals front and rear. This generation just LED front turn signals. I dont get that cost cutting feature. I dont know if its because of the chip shortage or what but it would be a nice touch to have them

So I gather from here the new CR-V 1.5 Turbo is Loud and Slow. And not a corner carver like my 21’ CX-5. No rear connectivity and no ventilated seats. I got so much more with my CX-5 for the same money last year. Heads up display, heated steering wheel and heated rear seats, Bose sound system, lower front windshield heater, power side mirrors and more.

I really love this new CR-V so far, it has literally everything that I need, a turbo and a CVT (for that no-shifting driving feel), as well as everything else you could ever get in an SUV. (I'd also take a RAV4/RAV4 Hybrid too). Honda has done an amazing job with the new CR-V so far!

i have the 2014 version. Replaced 2 batteries 74, 000 miles. No major engine issues. Dealer wants to use as trade-in for 2023. IDK great not having a car note.

I own a 2019 CRV and my major complaints is the amount of road noise and the safety system which will activate unexpectedly and will give a noise but no indication of the problem. Some of the panel in the cabin are loose and rattle on rough road surfaces. Honda refuses to even look at it. I am pretty much done with them.

I have a 2014 CR-V w/ 78K Miles.
It was my mom's but she got herself a new car, and gave me her CR-V Which I really like because of the space! I've actually been thinking of a trade-in since I drive ALOT, about 700 miles a week or so. I'm going to a dealership today thinking of a 2022, but might just wait for the 2023! What a great design!

4:20 Joe: I'd like to see something going on at the rear bumper.
Every other video: Joe: I'm gonna zonk the fake rear vents. What are fake vents doing on a compact SUV?

I like that the gauges look like gauges and not an Ipad, I actually liked the last version gauges better cause they were unique even though it was a screen in the middle. It looks like for the next 5 years or so Honda will be using virtually the same interior in everything, it's a nice interior but It's kinda lame that there's nothing unique about it from one Honda to the next.

I have idea why Honda continues to use halogen bulbs. Everything now adays needs to be Full LED.

Probably not, since Honda's supply is so low all 3 dealerships around me are doing a 5k and 6k mark-ups over MSRP on current gen CR-V. I don't even want to know what the markup will be on these.

Thank you very much Joe and Lori for bringing us the driving impressions of the new 2023 CRV EXL. You guys ROCK !!!
I feel Honda should have increased the power for the 2023 CRV's upwards of 200HP and bring in the 2.4L engine which had lesser issues when compared to the 1.5L engine.
For that EXL price point: not having Fog lamps, LED back turning indicator bulbs, USB connectivity for the back passengers is a big negative when we compare it with the competition. Its a shame that Honda is being very conservative and very slow in the upgrades.

I just don’t see why 4 cylinders are in suvs . I can see cars with 4 cylinders . SUV’s are heavier and some may have towing capacity. Thanks for sharing . The design is nice .

I can’t come from a sedan with a 2.0 and downgrade to a 1.5 tiny engine. Even if they add a turbo or hybrid, it’s underpowered for such a heavy vehicle and long term reliability is questionable since that tiny engine will be overworked hauling around all that weight/ being that tall with more wind resistance. Dealer markups will be thru the roof. But that’s just me.
