Hey y'all! Today I thought I'd do a LIVE progress update because the one I did for Chinese got a lot of questions. Plus, it's more personal this way-- thank you so much for coming out and asking questions, and good luck with your own German studies!

I loved the puppy analogy 😂. Learning German is really hard but I keep telling myself it will be so rewarding at the end (or the middle, I don't hope to reach "the end" with any of my languages). Also, I got that grammar book you recommended, I'm planning to start with it tomorrow 😊. And today I listened the first episode of Coffee Break German, that I also knew thanks to one of your previous videos So many, many thanks to you! Abrazos desde Argentina 🇦🇷

I've come from a previous video, and have just installed the grammar book (newer version) on my kindle. Plus I found the podcast so I'll check that out later on. Now I just have to get the confidence to speak in german to my boyfriend, who is actually german lol.

Fantastic videos, and very helpful! Your foreigner language skills are remarkable, which leads me to this question: Have you ever looked into, or considered, taking the Foreign Service Exam once you graduate?

Thank you! Can you please film a video on how to be an italki tutor? How to get around the site, etc.? As you know, unfortunately, they do not provide any training upon hiring new candidates.

I completed my A1 level of German. It's a beautiful language, easy to learn. But one annoying thing about german is that everything has a gender 😂 like a pen is male.. I mean wtf..you have to remember the gender for der, die, das which affects sentence construction..

Not to be mean or disrespectful... but most German teachers who are not German and have lived a considerable amount of their lifes in Germany (most, not all of them) do make massive mistakes; especially when declining a subject or using a preposition. It (usually) just doesn't sound natural...

Therefore, I think, if you were about to plunge yourself into the German language get into contact with a native speaker. They will tell you if whatever you are saying sounds wrong (even if it might be (grammatically) right) and thus you will improve your "easy going German" (so the German to communicate with people).

I find you can fudge the cases in a conversation and Germans don’t care that much. Obviously that’s not a reason to not work on them, but rather to say it’s not worth getting your undies in a bundle about.

Declensions are fun time indeed, not 😂

I've done them in Russian and they absolutely screw with you on a different level.

And then Hungarian .... *Shudders* that was a trip lol
