The ONYX RCR is the fastest ebike we have reviewed on the channel. However, is the ONYX RCR more electric motorcycle than ebike with its smooth, incredible power along and lack of pedal assist?

With speeds up to 55+ mph, the ONYX RCR is sure to get riders' adrenaline pumping. The ONYX RCR has a beautiful café racer appearance which is sure to grab the attention of riders old and new.

In this review, we unbox, setup, take it for a spin, and tell you what we love and hate about the ONYX RCR Dirt Electric Motorbike.

I have a version 1 rcr. I see they added a couple upgrades. Im a big guy, so I swapped out the handlebars for 15" ape hangers, made all the difference in the world.

Been a viewer of the channel for a while, and I randomly me your sons at village greens park the other day! One of them was on this bike, and I must say you raised some great advertisers. Congrats on 100k!!

Finally, you got a hold of an ONYX RCR. I've had it for 2+ years already, and if you want more punch from the dig you can set the controller settings too. Just be careful it can get away from you!

Lyric Voodoo is the way to go and it's built like a real motorcycle too. It's American made and worth the asking price.

I was definitely surprised to see that xtech cable brake in the rear... I'd agree that they need full hydraulic

Thanks Andrew and Jimmy! My buddy I sold my Nikola to has a really tricked out RCR. He really enjoys it but rides the Nikki more these days. I would love to have one but I think I would rather just go with a motorcycle as it would take up the same amount of space. If I am gonna make that kinda room in the garage I might as well go all the way.

I'm glad you guys are stating that this bike only goes 55 mph because onyx would try and say it is 60 mph. The reality is it will hit maybe 55 mph on a fresh charge and after that 50 mph is it's top speed. As the battery drains so does it's top end performance. In addition, the speedometer comes "optimistic" from the factory. Last time I checked they were still shipping these out with a basic car fuse that was between the battery and motor/controller to prevent too much power being drawn. And it is not the battery/motor/controller that can't handle it. It is the low quality/tier wiring and connections that can't handle it. They cheap out on the little things that matter because it doesn't matter how powerful your motor/battery is when the gauge of wires and connections are not properly rated. I had mine for 3k miles. It was fun. But would not recommend to anyone. My EX30 EUC will smoke that thing any day of the week and it is far more reliable.

This is also the best entry level mid tier Ebike if your looking for cool + fast.

Another great review Jimmy and Andrew. Thank you. Have you guys ever considered reviewing one of the Hi-Powered Cycles (HPC) Black Lightning Ebike, the Lyric Graffiti moped style Ebike or the Spark Cycleworks Bandit moped style Ebike?

That's actually pretty cool, I like the fact that you can ride it on the street with a tag, cops around here are a little sketchy. I received the Talaria Sting R recently, it's pretty dang awesome but not easily ridden on the street. Big news is that I'm getting a new Zero DSR 14.4 this week, pretty excited about that one.

When you guys reviewing the new solar e-clipse ebike. All reviews I seen so far say its the best ebike this year and definitely better than surrons and talarias

With those big knobby tires you guys should take it off roading on some back trails, see what it’s capable of. It has that old Yamaha scrambler look.

The fact they are still putting pedals on E Bikes going over 50mph is ridiculous. If a cop sees you going even close to that fast your E Bike having pedals is not gonna fool him into thinking it’s street legal.

The people that say they would rather just buy a motorcycle instead of a $5, 000 e-bike are the short-sighted type of person that companies love.
All of those same people that think getting a motorcycle over an e-bike is cheaper, explain me where you're going to find a brand new motorcycle for $5, 000?
The cheapest motorcycle that I know of is a brand new Honda Navi for 2K which CANT do 55/60mph, has drum breaks and uses a automatic scooter type engine..
E-bike is a one-time cost purchase.
Motorcycle = 2.5k for the bike, excise tax cost, inspection cost, insurance cost, maintenance cost, gas cost, winter storage cost and anything else needed to maintain a motorcycle.. that added up to just under 5k for the first year alone...
