ESV has always been my favorite as a Catholic, I’m beyond thrilled to find this.

As a Presbyterian I grew up in the sixties using the RSV. When I converted to Roman Catholicism in 2010 I started using the RSV/CE. When the ESV became available as complete I began using it. It's my usual daily reader. I also, for 2023, did the Augustine Bible In A Year with it, and loved it. I've tried so many times using separate lists but that paperback was the only time I've done it, I think because it was so convenient. I passed my copy along to another Catholic friend and purchased a second one for another friend. Thanks so much!

I’ve not used one of these editions personally, but in my days as a Protestant I swore by this translation. Every major scholar/preacher who went deep into the original languages would always seem to rephrase the original meaning almost exactly to this text, even when their base translation is something else like the NASB or NIV. I spent years pouring over my old study Bible, and now that it has a Catholic version I am incredibly happy to use it again!

Any chance on publishing a small compact New Testament or New Testament and Psalms or even just the Gospels? I love my Ignatius New Testament and Psalms as someone always commuting on public transportation/ by foot etc... I LOVE the ESV CE and would LOVE always having the New Testament or Gospels in my bag!

Please make a large print version of ESVCE.

I began using the ESV with Evangelicals a few years ago, and liked it. I'm glad we have a Catholic edition available.

It barely has any Catholic footnotes as required by canon law.

Do you plan to make a Catholic Version Study Bible of the ESV? If so when should we be able to order it? Better still, how about a Large Print Study Bible? The Protestant study ESV is quite beautiful. Thank you. I'll check back for an answer.

So I am not Catholic but I do have a great respect for the church and wondered if there any study notes from Augustine.

I would like to download this Bible onto my smartphone

Is it paperback? This format seems like it won't hold together for a long period of use.

I prefer the 1941 Confraternity of Christian Doctrine revision of the Douay Rheims Challoner revision published by Scepter, but it's just a pocket copy and hard to read if you're getting up there in years

it seems the ESV-CE marketing is over. We hear nothing about future developments/plans. I have nearly given up on ever finding a quality traditional Catholic Study Bible. Protestants are light years ahead of us in this regard-they have plenty of choices. I hate to say it, but I feel that I have wasted my money buying 3 ESV-CE/Augustine Bibles. Have not heard any kind of 'update' for months.

it appears that this edition has not sold well in the U.S. I've given up on finding a reliable Catholic Study Bible. I'll stick with my NIV or ESV Study Bible. They are done with quality and didn't take YEARS to produce. I'm quite capable of ignoring the notes I need to ignore. Honestly, I think the blame for all of this lies with the so-called leadership in the U.S. Catholic Church. (They really don't care as is evident in their legislating (for financial gain) the very mediocre NABRE for liturgical use).

So you are using the Protestant ESV as your primary English text before. Good! I will not be guilty then for using the Legacy Standard Bible as my primary English text. For me, the latter is more accurate. And like you, I am Catholic.

I wish your black bonded leather edition was readily available in the UK, its far more appealing than the cornerstone Cambridge editions. However your editions would cost a fortune to ship from the US. Shame.

Based on a Protestant translation?!?!? No thanks.
