Beginner's Guide to Google Contacts: Creating Mailing Lists

When using labels to email to people who are not all part of the same organisation it is 'best practice' to paste the label into Bcc rather than let everyone see everyone else's email address. Useful for sending out newsletters to people who are interested but do not want their personal details being shown to everyone else.

Is there a way to clean up unwanted suggestions for email addresses in the pulldown lists as when typing in contacts, or my email addresses, in email headers? Hope that's not too confusing. Thanks for your clear and understandable videos.

Thanks. If a contact contains multiple email addresses it seems only the first email prepopulates into a Gmail. I'm interested because to date I've created only one contact for each student I teach, and added their parent's email addresses to the same contact. It's been easier in one sense, but if I want to send an email newsletter to all students and parents it appears I'll need to create separate contacts for each. I'm interested in your thoughts. 5:58 Very interesting. I wasn't even aware of this function. I use labels in contacts to sort them. I didn't know that I can also use these labels to write an email to everyone with this label. Another lesson learned. But one question. If I enter this label in the address bar at: "To", then all recipients can see the e-mail address of the other recipients. As long as they know each other and their email addresses, this is not a problem. However, if they don't know each other, wouldn't it be better to use the "BCC" line to insert the label?

Do you know what the limit is on how many people can be emailed in one message? I have a community-based mailing list of over 800 people and it gets bumped if I try to send to too many people. I've been copy/pasting in batches of 100 until I find a better way.

Does Gmail have a way to dump a handful of emails into a group quickly or do I need to create a contact profile for every individual before adding them into a unique email group one by one?

I am using google contacts for my HOA and each contact is sometimes a couple or a family with multiple emails included in the one contact. When I send a message using the label that includes a couple with more than one email in their contact entry it still only uses the first email in the entry. Is there a way to make google contact send to all the emails included in one contact entry? Thanks Dan

Is there a way to share a contact list with someone else? For example, I team teach with someone else. Instead of both of us creating contact lists for both of our homeroom students, we could each create one for our homeroom and share them with each other some how?
