These thoughts are good to have once you have made it in life, specifically financially.

This actually works for people who have made it in life. Naval Ravikant, who pretty much inspires everyone on this podcast, says that let’s earn money first, and then we can explore life’s deeper questions.

Never let go of your drive and hunger to be successful, till you’ve made enough or acquired enough skills for money to not be a problem.

And then, let’s talk about stoicism and low expectations.

I think we, as Indians, should learn to let the other guy finish before speaking.

Less expectation from people will keep you happy. I believe money is an important resource which everyone needs to live a decent life we need to acquire it for our financial security

No desire is not the cause of suffering, the cause of suffering is lack of humility and surrender unto Him.
If you have humility and belief that what God has done is better than what you desired then there won't be any suffering.

Ambition is the core nature of a man . There is a reason we talk about alexander in high regards and not Diogenes .

Happiness should never be the goal instead it's the contentment of having been a responsible person should be.

Wealth serves as a trial in life, testing individuals on how they manage and use their resources. It challenges them to act responsibly, show gratitude, and help those in need while avoiding greed and arrogance. This trial can shape their character and determine their spiritual growth.

Nikhil has already made it, he can do whatever he wants, for everyone else on the slowlane like me, who have not made it financially, having the desire to be successful is no 1 above anything else

Just some additional info - Diogenes was not a random guy (in fact, today, he is being hailed as one of the great philosophers and quite an oddball at that) and, the story goes that Alex had come there just to meet Diogenes. So the context of the story was that Diogenes did not give a damn about Alex, all he wanted was what he wanted at that time - the sunlight.

Easier to say for someone who's net worth is now over 100 crores. Give all of that away and we'll see if you still think the same. Don't shame someone for having desires and ambition.
