Bosnia is a country with amazing food and culture. And it is perhaps the largest country made up of predominantly white muslims. I found this surprising, though as I learned more about the history and the war in the 90s, it became clear that their unique ethnicity was at the core of their conflict-filled past.

This notion of “white” is very socially constructed. Just a few decades ago only Western European countries were considered “white” with even Italians being debated on in the United States. It was only when the government wanted a larger majority of white population against the growing Asian and black communities did they include people of Eastern and south Eastern European descent. Also, if we look at the skin tone of white, there are many middle eastern peoples that would be more white than Western Europeans😅 I guess “white” in this video was referring to a demographic of people that would have been traditionally Christian and not Muslim.

Bosnian white muslims are descendant of the White Goths an White Slavic People who are true Bosnians they were called Bosnani or Bosonen. Tvrtko the first true King of Bosnia his grandfather was called Cotroman de Goto this medieval Bosnians were follower of the Bogumil Religion a religion who have her roots at to the Arianism Religion. When the Turks won at Kosovo after this Battle in Bosnia was a Civil War they were many pretender of the Thrones the tutks were defeated at Bileca by Vlatko Vukovic Kosaca a Bosnian Noble Knight and Veteran of the battle of Kosovo this was the last battle Bosnians won. After this The Sultan invade Bosnia with 80 thousand Soldiers he took the Castles of Maglaj, Zvornik, Doboj, Jajce etc. the Bosnians fought brave help from Rome never came they waited like the Byzantines at Konstantinople but help never came after Jajce in Kraljevo Polje (Knight fields) Bosnian king was behaded by the Turks the Bosnian Kings Brother became Muslim with 40 thousand followers this is why Bosnia was a special Province in Ottoman Rule.
Bosnian King who was called Stjepan Kotromanic became Ishak Beg Karogolu (Beg mean noble, Karogolu mean Son of the King).
He was Gouvernor of Bosnia later good friend of the Sultan became a resident of the Ottoman Palace later became Gouvernor of Anatolia a big Ottoman province. Some catholic Bosnians became Austrians, Hungarians they left Bosnia for Hungary mostly. Bihac the last Bosnian City fell in 1600‘s, 200years after the fell of the Royal City of Jajce.
Bosnia was the first Balkan Country who fought and became independant against the Ottoman Empire. Captain Husein Gradsevic fought send help to Austria and Russia but help never came he was later captured and poisoned in the Ottoman Palace.
What is the Ottoman Empire?
Ottoman empire was founded by Osman a Seljuk noble man in the near of Bursa.
His son married a Byzantine princess and so all Ottoman Sultan was Roman descendant of Constantine the Great. Ottoman Empire was a muslim empire but the structure, admistration, political structure was roman. All sultans were called the Rum sultanes (Roman sultans) .
Greeks, Serbians, Bulgarians, Georgians, Armenisn noble families had political powers in the Empire.
When the Ottomans or Turks converted in 1100 to Christianity they came close then Bosnia would be still Bogumils but mostly Orthodox. Because even before the Ottomans Bosnia had diversity with Religions Bosnian were called Heretics by Rome and Constantinople.
In 1300’s Srebrenica was massacred 3000 Bosnian Bogumils were killed by the the Serbian King Stefan Nemanjic because they rebelled and don t worked in the silver mines. Bosnia was back then Hungarian vasall. king Sigismund of Luxembourg who was Hungarian King gave Srebrenica and the silver mines to Serbian King Stefan because he was a good friend.
