Lyrics:

"Beware, beware the Daughter of the Sea."
"Beware," I heard him cry.
His words carried upon the ocean breeze,
As he sank beneath the tide.

Those blood-soaked shores of Kalimdor,
Where sailors fought and died.
The Admiral fell at Theramore,
because she left his side.

Why this? Why this, oh Daughter of the Sea?
Why this? Did you forget your seaside days?
Always the pride of our nation's eyes,
How could she go astray?

When she did flee across the ocean deep,
The Admiral followed west.
What else but sail to save a daughter's life,
And pray she still drew breath?

Why this? Why this, oh Daughter of the Sea?
Why this? Did you forget your seaside days?
Always the pride of our nation's eyes,
How could she go astray?

But there he found upon those distant shores,
Enemies 'pon the rise!
But when he faced those savage foes
His daughter stood aside.

And buried deep beneath the waves,
Betrayed by family.
To his nation, with his last breath, cried,
"Beware the Daughter of the Sea."

Why this? Why this, oh Daughter of the Sea?
Why this? Did you forget your seaside days?
Always the pride of our nation's eyes,
How could she go astray?

I heard, I heard, across a moonlit sea,
The old voice warning me,
"Beware, beware the Daughter of the Sea",
"Beware, beware..."
...of me.

Man, I remember when this song was first released. If you've played since Warcraft 3, then that song has LAYERS. There was many things to complain about during Battle for Azeroth, but Jaina's storyline was extremely compelling and powerful. Hit me like a brick. Great cover.

2:48 - My favorite part. This sailor's melancholy tone speaks the same betrayed sentiment as the rest, but with a tinge of sympathy for Jaina.

Oh. That's the one piece of WoW that I know and have repeatedly listened to.
And Malukah was one of the first artists I discovered on YouTube. Very much looking forward to this.

I'm a guy who like Clamavi's performances. I'm also a guy who like the sweetness of the Maluka's voice. And I'm a World of Warcraft player.

I must love, and with all my heart, this piece of perfection.

I never played Battle for Azeroth. But I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve listened to this song. Looking forward to hearing your rendition!

This song always makes me tear up, it's not just one of my favorite things that Blizzard has put out, it's also one of my personal favorite pieces of diegetic music... You can really picture this being sung, sad and slow, in a Kul Tiran tavern

As an avid Warcraft 3 player, I loved this song. Back when Warcraft had good storytelling, characters, and didnt try to kill off and recycle heroes left and right

Man, I've always loved Malukah's voice ever since she covered The Dragonborn Comes, and hearing her voice alongside your dulcet tones? HELLS YEAH!

This is great. Musically its the best version I have heard ... can't beat Laura singing it herself, with all the acting and emotion, but this eminently listenable.

Jaina and her story was one of the greatest things to happen in BFA.
Excellent work on this one, a joy to listen to.
