Cool. My stick welds never came out that good when I was starting out. Took some practice to strike an arc without sticking the electrode. Love electric bikes so much so that my car and motorcycle have been collecting dust for a while now.

Nice job. I figure that metal is attractive because welding is relatively easy (once learned and you have equipment), fast, and convenient, but have you thought of trying a composites approach? You can save a lot of weight, and when it comes to E vehicles, weight (and aerodynamics) is critical.

Nor do you need expensive, fancy carbon fiber to get there. Some lighter weight wood as the core (probably best being Paulownia), some S glass fiberglass, some high quality epoxy, and/or some carbonized cellulose nanocrystals makes some pretty dang strong but lightweight composites. There are now some at least partially bio based epoxies out there.

And bamboo reinforced with the above materials, makes awesome tubes.

Looking good Luke but that back wheel looks like it a tad buckled so may need straightening to remove vibration at speed.

If you run the motor the other way it's free wheeling. .may need to flip sides...???
