Welcome to the second video of the channel, and the second video in the series of converting a conventional gas powered ATV to an electric ATV.
In this video the MOTENERGY ME1507 BLDC motor is unboxed after having arrived in Denmark from California. The electric motor delivers 14.5 kW of continuous power, at a nominal torque of 32 Nm, and 44 kW at 100 VDC with 120 Nm of peak torque. Price=$1,029.00.
-Furthermore I'm taking a look at the 2002 Arctic Cat 4x4 500cc final drive axel, that have also just arrived, from Colorado.

The quad that is converted is a 150cc Texas King Off-Roader (copy of Yamaha Blaster), originally with 12.5 HP and a four speed gearbox.

The scope for next video is to insert mockups of the electric motor, battery pack and gearbox in the chassis, to gain better knowledge of the available space.
A video explaining how to calculate battery capacity and size, form a given set of objectives and constraints, is also in the pipeline.

If you want to follow along, or get inspired by, some other awesome electric conversions, be sure to check out the following:

A special thanks to my very good friend Mathias E. C. for helping me with the project and the filming!

A bit about me:
I'm a mechanical engineering student who has decided to try and start my own consultancy company which is dealing with electrification of internal combustion engine vehicles and green solutions.
The channel covers aspects of entrepreneurship, product development and mechanical engineering practice.
Follow along as I embark on new projects and try to figure out the entrepreneurial world.

Please feel free to follow along in the project as I work my way forward. - I'll be sure to include both succes and learnings from the process.

Old shipping guy once taught me how to remove a heavy boxed item. Cut open the top, fold the box flaps down on the sides and flip the box over putting the opened side down. Then just lift the box off the item.
