Kids Chore Routine | The Best Chores For Young Kids

Hi Friends! In this video I share with you the chores I have my young kids do around the house. My girls are 2 and 4 and have learned a lot from doing these simple household chores. I think instilling a sense of responsibility at a young age is great. From rinsing off dishes, to folding wash cloths, it's all good in my book! Okay YES to all of this but I also have a few more since mine are 6&4! I took the middle rod out of the swiffer and my kids LOVE to clean the floors for me! We have 2 dogs so we have to clean the floors every day and it’s such a help when the kids pitch in! They are also responsible for feeding the dogs and keeping the dog toys cleaned up and making sure the shoes stay picked up! I have never thought to have them vacuum the couch so I’m soooo going to start that! We have an amazing reward chart system and whoever finishes the week with the most stars picks the movie for movie night! Works so good for our family!

Funny you mention the baby wipes. My son has loved scrubbing surfaces with baby wipes since 7 or 8 months old. Probably shows how much he's seen me scrubbing things.

Hiya ...sorry for commenting on an older video...I'm catching up having found your channel very recently. My littlest, Ezra (3) has very similar chores! He's helped put pillows and cushions back on the bed every day since he was about 18 months old. When he was really tiny, I always kept a drawer of his bowls, cups, cutlery etc.. really low down in the kitchen where he could easily get them himself. I'd pass him the cereal box and let him pour his own. Nowadays he makes his own toast and scrambled eggs with very minimal help 🤣💕, he can fetch and pour his own drink etc too. I have him help bring the lighter groceries in and put them away. He loves vacuuming and sweeping. I also have him empty and sort the dishwasher cutlery basket - he stands on a little stool to do this. He loves to choose the right programme on my dishwasher and washing machine and set them running 🤣😍... I can now even just tell him 'synthetics' (etc) and any adjustments eg temp & he knows exactly where to set the dials...only problem is he gets upset if I do any of 'his jobs' myself 😣🤣🤣... I think it's fantastic getting little ones involved in the everyday stuff -- they are so eager to help & it's all learning for them! I made the mistake of not doing this with my eldest (14) and that ship has now sailed..(actually it capsized and sank! 🤣)

Great ideas! Chores are so important and I think it’s hilarious when people say kids shouldn’t do chores.... 😂😂😂 okay have fun with that kid later on. Avery loves helping; who am I to say no? I have her fold her laundry and it drives me nuts that she doesn’t fold the way I do but she’s folding so it’s fine it’s fine, IT’s FINE!!😂
