Nice work as always, I've spent plenty of time In Batumi, that perfume lady was more than likely a Gypsy rather than a typical Georgian.

Luke, she is basically giving the perfume away! lol. That stinks about the rain, but looks like you made the most of your time. What a great saleswoman the spicy seller was! Naomi knows fruit leather when she sees it. Yea, that market does sound super quiet. The coffee shop, not so much. Great video. Keep showing us the locals!

The woman who taught you didn't seem georgian. Honey is tapli and naxvamdis is bye bye...madloba means ONLY thank you. I'll leave you guys a comment from our georgian2go account as well. I subscribed btw and wish you an awesome time in Batumi. As for the fruit leather, go for red or dark red, those are the original flavors and the best (same goes for churchxela, the ones with nuts. The ones with walnuts are better. Sometimes theres white powder on them, it's not mold, it's sweet).

What an epic market! Thanks for the tour, guys.
Malina is raspberry (in Russian) and adjika can be best described as the better version of a mild salsa. Absolutely delicious with most meat dishes.

They don't seem to be as pushy as a lot of markets are around the world. Nice. It makes for a lot better shopping environment.

Wow, the old lady is talking to you in russian as if you can understand it, malina is a raspberry and it's a home made raspberry jam))) and funduk is a hazelnut)))

as promised, here's another comment. Use adjika lightly...you can add a little bit to your bread and butter or you can spice your fried potatoes with it. You can also get dried adjika as a spice, if you want to take some home but are restricted in your luggage (the spice is available at spar or carrefour as well as at the local markets). I gave the video a thumbs up! I'm not sure about the lady who was claiming the perfumes were original but I ended up buying original high end perfumes at a similar market but in Tbilisi...Some perfume here and there is quite nice but I feel like since Corona and also with what has been going on in the Ukraine, people's values shifted in a more positive direction.
