Hogan swung toward the target, not toward the ball. Clubhead impacts the ball courtesy of the "secret in the dirt"... Gravity.

This is more about the trail elbow. You are absolutely correct, but another way to feel and see this. The trail elbow in the right position and bent through impact will not allow lead arm to drop and get in the way. Good stuff sir

grip at set-up can cause this slight elbow shift. playing on uneven ground also impacts balance that causes great variation in feel vs real

"so when we can understand this it's going to really start making sense". truly satisfying gibberish. lol

Hogan 100% did not rotate like this. He drove his hips towards target, as all good players do (except Min Woo Lee who is a freak) 😂

dude why not just flatten your wrist asap or else as the first move out of the top like LPGA players. turning wrist down through impact not

No, Hogan's left arm, elbow, and hand was dropped DOWN and inside over his footline, to allow him to hit w/ the right hand/right side. Hogan's swing was all about getting the left arm down & OUT OF THE WAY. Now, perhaps the camera angle distorts it, but your left arm/hand is going out towards the ball in the transition/downswing, and Hogan nor any right-side/right arm dominant release does that.

Impact happens so fast you cannot even see it. Let alone control it manually. Ben Hogan was a great golfer, but completely wrong about why he was great. His book is awful.
