Aniruddha Dutta is a composer working at the interface of Western and South Asian classical musical traditions whose work has been performed at several public concerts in the US and India. Their music seeks to unify Western forms and techniques with Indian classical melodic and rhythmic devices such as ragas (melodic modes) and layakari (rhythmic play) — to not only fuse ‘western’ and ‘Indian’ music but also to find underlying commonalities that allow their mutual translation into a new idiom. In 2022, their composition ‘Circumambulation in Kosalam and Hemavati: A Fantasia for Piano’ was one of the pieces selected for an international ‘Call for Composers’ issued by the Symphony Orchestra of India (SOI), Mumbai, India.

Really different and nice, 👍❤️ following its progressive and steady flow of trailing harmony to the melody. I liked it very much! 🙌🌈🎹

This one had a nice rolling flow to it. Cheerful sound, too. Overall the words I would use to describe the mood would be "Pleasant, pensive." (Read More).

If I had to take a guess (not trying to be too presumptuous), is the composer from India? Or has Indian ancestry? If the answer is yes, then in interpreting the term "River Room", I visualized a doorway that exits a building with a small platform or dock at the edge of a river in India, with people, boats, and vehicles all milling about going about their day. I visualized a young person, either teen or young adult, taking it all in for a moment, trying to figure out their place in the world, with a small smile hoping they make something big of themselves.

Of course, an alternative to that (sorry for the novel) was also a quaint little boathouse or shed at a river's edge in northern climates, tall green trees, faded paint, calm river. Someone taking in the scenery, possibly taking a vacation, or maybe they just live there in a house a short distance up a hill (enter Bob Ross's voice).

Nice piece. Cheerful and pleasant. "Visual" in some ways, if that makes sense.

As always, nicely played.
